How to contact us

Write to contacto@is-c.cl. We reply on Chilean business days. To help us answer faster, include your store domain (my-store.myshopify.com) and, if the issue is a checkout message, the city and region the buyer entered. Please do not send full addresses or customer data that is not needed.

Frequently asked questions

Where does the buyer enter the comuna?

In the standard Shopify address form: the app does not add a "Comuna" field. It reads the field you choose in Settings (City by default; you can also use Address line 2 or ZIP code) and shows the message under that field.

Can I change "Ciudad" to "Comuna" in the checkout?

Yes, on any plan, and we recommend it: buyers then enter their comuna instead of "Santiago". In the Shopify admin, go to Settings > Checkout and choose "Edit checkout content". In the "Checkout & system" category, change the "City label" field to "Comuna". If you also ship to other Spanish-speaking countries, use "Comuna o ciudad". Note that the change edits the store's primary language and applies to every country in that language, not only Chile. The app cannot do it for you.

What stops the checkout?

Only obvious errors in addresses in Chile:

  • The comuna does not exist.
  • The comuna belongs to a different region than the one selected.
  • The street number is missing (if you turn that rule on). If the street has no number, the buyer can type "S/N".

The buyer sees the message under the field and can fix it. Anything the app does not recognize as a comuna goes through, unless you turn on strict mode. If the app fails or is slow, the checkout keeps working.

How do I pause the validation?

From the app: on Home, use the Pause button. You can also do it from the Shopify admin, in Settings > Checkout > Checkout Rules, by turning off the Comuna Correcta rule. To turn it back on, use the button on Home or activate the rule on that same screen.

Which addresses does it check?

Only shipping addresses in Chile. Addresses in other countries go through without review.

Limitations

  • Checkout validation does not run on orders created through the API (Create Order API) or from the admin, on order edits, on POS, on pre-orders or on subscription renewals.
  • Outside Shopify Plus the checkout address form cannot be changed, so the message appears under the existing field and there is no dedicated "Comuna" field.
  • The app does not store addresses. More detail in the privacy policy.
